The Warwickshire School is responsible for training anaesthetists and forms part of the West Midlands Deanery. There are also schools based in Stoke-on-Trent and Birmingham.
There are six hospitals comprising the school. CT1&2 trainees are usually based at one or two of these. ST3-7 trainees will rotate through most of the hospitals during their training. The school also has attachments to Birmingham Children's Hospital for paediatric training and University Hospital Birmingham for training in cardiac and neuro anaesthesia.
The school has two Programme Directors, for CT1&2s and ST3-7s. They liaise with College Tutors in each hospital, Regional Advisors at the West Midlands Deanery and The Royal College of Anaesthetists.
All trainees must ensure they are registered for training with the Royal College of Anaesthetists
